Northern Upright Ebony & Boxwood Chess Pieces

The Northern Upright outline dates before the familiar Staunton design.
Also, commonly recognised as the Edinburgh Uprights, this design was favored around the early part of the nineteenth century.
These examples are very much faithful reproductions of this classic design. Hand crafted from solid ebony and Boxwood, this luxury set exhibits slim and elegant lines with long slender column like shanks. These pieces will balance well with all colours and finishes of chess board, but will look particularly impressive on a traditional style board.
