Finnesburg Olive Luxury Chess Set

An interesting deviation from the classic traditional wooden chess set. Both the board and pieces are designed and produced by the professional chess artisans of Italfama, Italy. The pieces are cast from solid Brass and feature beautifully detailed decorative embossing. being solid metal they are a good weight and feel nicely balanced in the hand. The design is based on the classic Staunton notion, however the result is something more allegorical and emblematic. The pieces are fitted with red felt pads on their underside to protect the board and are presented in a custom sized cardboard presentation box, making them the perfect gift option.
The Italfama erable and Elm Burr board is presented in Olive Green stained erable and natural elm. Finished in a very high gloss lacquer, the wood grain and knotting of the burr veneer looks almost three dimensional under the deep lacquer. The inlaid squares are edged with a band of red wood that sections of the checkerboard from the board edge.
